Number of personalities II

L5R CCG Rules board, 7 July 2008 to 8 July 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I can't answer in my last topic so here again. If I have for example 5 personalities in my deck: 3x Hida Kuon 1x Hida Kuon exp 1x Hida Kuon exp2

Can I have all of them on the table?

Quotes in italics, below, are from Experienced.

Even though Hida Kuon experienced and Hida Kuon experienced 2 are both Unique, because they have different experience levels, they may be included in the same deck. Even if they are Unique, Experienced cards with the same title but different experience levels may be included in the same deck.

However, because they are Unique, they may not both be in play at the same time. Unique Experienced cards still follow the rules for entering play that apply to Unique cards.

If Hida Kuon exp is in play, the only way to bring Hida Kuon exp2 into play is by overlaying Hida Kuon exp. During the Dynasty Phase, if an Experienced Personality is face-up in one of the active player's Provinces, it can overlay a less experienced Personality with the same title controlled by the active player.

If Hida Kuon2 exp is in play, you may not bring Hida Kuon exp into play even by overlaying a Hida Kuon nonexp. A Unique card can not overlay another card if there is a third card in play that is a Unique version of the overlaying card.

You can have all your Hida Kuons on the table, but only up to four Hida Kuons in play: the experienced Hida Kuons must be in an overlay stack, of which only the topmost card is in play.
