If a Lion Clan personality is destroyed via an action modified by Determination, are they removed from the game or do they remain because of Hall of Ancestors trait?
I searched but could not find an answer from Samurai Edition.
Thanks,

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

The personality is not removed from the game.
Determination attempts to remove the dead Lion Clan Personality from the game, but The Hall of Ancestors negates the removal. You'd need a second Determination to negate that negation; the first Determination only negates negation of the effects of the action to which it's reacting.

So you are telling me that the removal from the game is an effect of Determination and not the action that actually destroyed the personality?
Because I would think that "after the action destroys any Personality, remove him from the game." is an additional effect of the action applied by Determination, which specifically says "the action can not have its effects negated."

It's an effect of Determination.
If Determination said, "After the action destroys any Personality, the action then removes him from the game," then you would be correct: Determination would be adding an effect to the triggering action. However, it doesn't say that: Determination itself removes the Personality from the game - and that effect can be negated normally.
