Daigotsu Exp help!

L5R CCG Rules board, 4 May 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Daigotsu says "After each action resolves, give the Shadowlands trait to all Personalities who performed it." If a Shadowlands personality performs an action, does it technically gain the trait, or what's the rule with a personality gaining a trait that it already had. The wording sounds like the SH personality would still gain the trait, even though it doesn't really change anything.

No. If a Shadowlands personality performs an action, Daigotsu Experienced's trait doesn't affect him because he can't gain a keyword that he already has.

Card features, Keywords: "A card either has a given keyword or it does not. Effects that grant a keyword to a card that already has it do not give it an extra copy of the keyword. Nor would such an effect protect that card against another effect that would remove that keyword."
