If a personality has either a Reaction or text that always occurs (such as Hida Daizu) what occurs when he is destroyed while at home during the battle action segment? When he comes back into play (immediately, correct?) does he do so at home or at the battlefield? My question, to be specific, is: in the rulebook, under Rule of Presence and Rules of Location it states "The rules of Presence and Location do not restrict Reactions during a battle" - so a person not AT the battle can have a reaction to something occurring AT that battle? Shosuro Jimen (not experienced) dishonours even if he is not nor was never at that battle/duel? And does that include text that is neither a Battle nor a Reaction action (specifically relating to cards in play)?
when does rule of presence not apply?
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
(A) person not AT the battle can have a reaction to something occurring AT that battle?
Correct.
And does that include text that is neither a Battle nor a Reaction action (specifically relating to cards in play)?
As noted, the Rule of Presence only applies to Battle actions (http://rules.l5r.com/Battles#Rule_of_Presence). Traits are not subject to it. Not sure what you're getting at with the parenthetical tag at the end, though.
