L5R CCG Rules board, 19 April 2008 to 20 April 2008

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 19 April 2008

From my understanding you can bow the card during your turn and pay for something, then just at the begining of your oponent's turn (at the straighten phase) you can straighten it and therefore use it to pay some costs for actions you can take during your oponent's turn (open action from your hand for example...is that right?)

You are mostly correct. Two tiny, tiny points, though:

You said "just at the beginning of your opponents turn", and I'm pretty sure you didn't mean "just" in the sense of "only", but (to be crystal clear) it does straighten in each player's Straighten Phase including yours.

Also, you said "you can straighten it", but the straightening is not optional. It simply says that it does it, so it does whether you like it or not.
