A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I am almost afraid of asking this silly question, but after reading the ruling on Sozen, I am no longer sure. If I use battle ability 1 on Personality A, can I then play determination and take the action again, ignoring the rule stating actions can only be used once per turn?
Example: Moto Chagatai xp 4 uses his battle ability to move in, then after the battle, I play determination and use his battle action a second time. Thank you.

No, unless you are allowed to do so by the card text of this ability on your Personality (such as 'twice per turn' or 'once per battle'). See rules below (emphasis mine).
Abilities and actions, Using abilities: Each separate ability can only be used once per turn by default.
Glossary, Cannot: When found in game rules text, the phrases “cannot” or “can only” apply to the legality of doing something in the first place; they do not imply that doing that thing is merely negated.

Additionally, if referencing a previous ruling to which you feel your question relates, please link to it in your post.
