This came up, and despite my Advanced Search - fu, I could not find a conclusive answer. I feel a bit silly asking, but here goes...
Political Open: Target another player's Personality. After the first time this turn he assigns to attack or is destroyed, gain 3 Honor.
I assign spud targeted by this (lets say a Venerable Master token) and in the battle they are killed.
Does the Crane player gain 3 for me assigning, or 6 (3 from assigning and 3 for offing him)
Once agian, I hate to ask this, but I need a conclusive answer, and my search-fu failed me.

The trigger for the effect "gain 3 Honour" is "he assigns to attack you or is destroyed". The phrase "the first time" means that the trigger is only effective once.
