May a Maw's Grave player take the rulebook action to commit seppuku?
Thanks!
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
May a Maw's Grave player take the rulebook action to commit seppuku?
Thanks!
May a Maw's Grave player take the rulebook action to commit seppuku?
I'm guessing this is because "You do not gain or lose Honor" is on the stronghold, and the player ability to order seppuku (http://rules.l5r.com/Glossary_S#Seppuku) says, "before you lose Honor."
http://rules.l5r.com/Effects#Blind_cards_rule: "(N)egation from ongoing and continuous effects precedes the chance to take a Reaction 'before' something happens, and negation from ongoing effects precedes both triggered traits and Reactions. So, if an effect says 'Units can not move from this battlefield,' you still cannot take a Reaction 'before moving' to an effect that normally moves a unit from the battlefield."
Replace "lose honor" with "moving" in the example above.
