A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

sorry if this was discussed previously, search gave no result
is it possible to use hall of the ancestor and control this way?
1 copy samurai trait to a non samurai personality 2 play control on a bowed personality 3 wait end of turn
so that the personality playing "control" is no longer a samurai, thus cannot as a samurai unbow or leave play. resulting in the target personality being unable to unbow

http://rules.l5r.com/Special_wording_ru ... _to_things: "Once a card or other game element is identified by a keyword in a trait or action’s text (such as, “Bow one of your Samurai”) further references to that keyword within that trait or action are meant to only identify the particular game element clearly (such as, “Your Samurai gains +2F”). Specifically, if the Samurai somehow loses the Samurai keyword between the first and second references, the second effect still applies."

The final verdict is unclear to me. Can control be used effectivly in the suggested manner? Thank you for your time.
