Utaku Genshi - multiples

L5R CCG Rules board, 4 December 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If after I'm done attacking my Unicorn opponent with two Utaku Genshi's out, and destroying one of her provinces... can she use Genshi's ability to attack two of my provinces? If the answer is yes, can she also play a Retribution to attack three of my provinces?

I'm thinking the answer is no, because the first reaction (any of the three) create an attack phase - removing the ability of the other cards to use their effects. If I'm wrong, that's fine... I'm just pretty sure that I'm right.

Thanks.

Each ability is separate. Yes.
