Successfully Action and Strike the Summit

L5R CCG Rules board, 4 December 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 4 December 2007

If I cancel the movement of the Strike the Summit and the opponent uses the trait to pick the Strike at the Center,

Is it considered a succesfully action? I don't see the change of the game state

Strike the Summit (C) Coste: 0; Focus: 2. Kiho Battle: Bow one of your Rings and target one of your unbowed Monks: Move home a target Personality opposing him. Bow the Personality if he moved. You may discard a card; if you do, search your deck for a Strike the Center, show it, and put it into your hand. “Let us begin the lesson!”

Zen Faulkes (rules official), 4 December 2007

If I cancel the movement of the Strike the Summit and the opponent uses the trait to pick the Strike at the Center, Is it considered a succesful action?

Point: There is no "canceling" in L5R any more.

Yes, it is successful if the player chooses to discard and search.
