Unexpected Betrayal and multiple battles

L5R CCG Rules board, 22 November 2007 to 26 November 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Relevant text: Unexpected Betrayal Battle: Target a dishonorable Personality in an army. Cards in that unit cannot perform actions. During battle resolution, the unit's Force is added to your army's total instead of its controller's.

If I use Unexpected Betrayal on my opponent's card and afterwards it is moved into another battle, would it still contribute force to my army if I have one at said battlefield?

And as a side-note, would it make any difference if my opponent's traitorious card was moved home and then moved into another battle?

The effect lasts until the end of the turn. It doesn't matter which Battlefield the betrayer winds up in or how many times he gets sent home.
