L5R CCG Rules board, 21 November 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Limited: Bow this Shugenja: Target a card. Until this Shugenja is unbowed or leaves play, actions on the target may not be used. This Shugenja may remain bowed.

I understand that "This Shugenja may remain bowed" is a part of the action's text, right? So if the Personality is bowed by something else, she doesn't have the choice to remain unbowed, right?

Now, from my understanding of how things work, this is an effect of the Spell's ability, and it does not specify a duration, so it should end at the end of turn. Is this correct? If not, why?

(The starting question was, if Eclipse is transfered to another Personality, does the "This Shugenja may remain bowed" effect end, or can one successively use the ability on one Personality per turn? I seem to remember it was possible, under Lotus rules, to use Isawa Sezaru and Eclipse together to "blank" one personality per turn, just by keeping Sezaru bowed)
