(Since my week-old question has not been answered and has now dropped from the first forum page, without an "under consideration" semi-answer, I am reposting it...)
Since this thread has not been updated, I suppose Roger's ruling still stands...
Now, if an action (action A; say, Doomed Intentions) gives an opportunity to play an additional action (Action B; say, Bayushi Paneki (exp4)'s "bang you're dead" ability), and players have reactions to each of them (say, "Cut Them Off" to action A, and Shosuro Adeiko's Reaction to action B; both are Reactions to an action's resolution, not to individual effects), what's the timing?
Roger's quoted ruling says that the additional action B will come before any reactions to action A, but it doesn't explicitly state the order for reactions to A and B.
(a) Action A resolved first, so Reactions to A go first (sequential order) (b) Action A has not fully resolved until Action B has finished resolving, so Reactions to B go first ("stacking", LIFO order) (c) Opportunities for Reactions to the two first happen at the same time, so the triggers are considered simultaneous and turn order will apply (d) Some other solution (please explain)
(As a computer scientist, I'm more than familiar with stacks and LIFO, but I seem to remember that L5R's rules have, in the past, avoided "nested resolution" like plague, so my feeling that (b) is natural may not be the good one)
