My friend and I had a little argument. Does Private Trader produce 3 gold for Choose Your Ground? I said no because of a ruling awhile ago (I can't remember the cards), but the situation was basically the same. Private Trader says it'll "produce 3 gold when paying a gold cost on an action card." Choose Your Ground's gold cost is zero unlike Will and Ruthless Advance. Who's right?

Assuming you mean the second ability, yes. It's "a Gold Cost on an Action card" (card text), not the "Gold Cost of an action card" (which would be 0G).
