Asako Bairei xp3 reads (just relevant passage): Water Battle: Even if he is not at the current battlefield, bow Bairei: Straighten up to 4 target bowed cards. also: The Rule of Location: This rule has two parts: 1. Any cards in units must be at the current battlefield to be legally targeted by a Battle action. 2. If a Battle action is on a card in a unit (a Personality or attachment in play), the unit must be at the current battlefield
Let's assume Bairei attacks Province A. I also got Units at a Battlefield B (attacking Province B, too)
a) When resolving a battle at Province B first, can I use Bairei to straighten bowed cards at Battlefield B ?
I guess thats a definitive "Yes" - his trait "even if Bairei is not at this battlefield" should allow this.
b) If I resolve a battle at Province A, can Bairei target cards bowed not in Units (e.g. Holdings) and straighten them ?
I'm not sure about this, but alot of native speakers pointed out that part 1) of the Rule of Location just restricts cards actually being in a unit to be targeted by Battleactions. Is it true that you can affect cards not in units with Battleactions ? o.0
and c) In case b) is possible:
If I attack and resolve Battlefield B first. (Bairei is still at A, I got Presence at Battlefield B) Can I use Baireis Action to straighten, eg. 2 bowed cards at Battlefield B and 2 bowed Holdings ?
Thanks for your time and sorry if these questions sound like semantics - but I'm just trying to get a catch on the Intent of the Rule of Location.
