Hey Zen you stated in this post viewtopic.php?f=59&t=60311#p772479 that kaiu hisayuki would tentatively gain +3 force for being opposed but you needed to do more research. just wondering if you have come to final ruling as to why it would be +3 and not +4 when opposed Hisayuki trait is "increase by 1 all Force bonuses Hisayuki receives from abilities on cards that are not in this unit. These increases last as long as the bonuses do." Shout of Defiance text is Target one of your Personalities: He gains +1F, an additional +1F if he is a Hero, and an additional +1F if he is opposed.
I read the Shout as having 3 separate Force bonuses do to the inclusion of the word additional. if the wording had been "a further +1" i could see it being all one bonus

Having been away from this for a while and having more familiarity with the Samurai Edition rules, I'm changing the old ruling. Each bonus is separate, and is increased by Hisayuki's trait separately. so +4F.
The old post has been updated accordingly.
