Determination + Fury of the Dark Lord vs Hall of Ancestors

L5R CCG Rules board, 15 September 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hi,

an earlier rules query http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=58764&p=756237&hilit=Fury+of+the+Dark+Lord#p756237 asked the question about Determination vs Hall of the Ancestors, whereby the ruling was that the HoA trait "Dead Personalities you own can not be removed from the game" was a Negation.

My question is, Determination + Fury of The Dark Lord

Determination Dark Virtue Reaction: Before you announce an action, target one of your Samurai: The action can not have its effects negated or have its targeting changed. After the action destroys any Personality, remove him from the game.

Fury of the Dark Lord Limited: Destroy each Personality with a base Gold Cost equal to or less than his controller’s Stronghold’s Gold Production plus 2. Remove all Personalities in discard piles from the game.

Will a Determination played on a Fury of the Dark Lord remove the personalities in the Hall of Ancestors' discard pile from the game ?
