RE: This.
I'm sorry to continue this, but I feel we need to carry on from where the above answer left off:
Okay, I have a base 3F Personality with an existing -8F worth of penalites upon him. So what is his current Force?
A: Apply all current bonuses and penalties. (3 - 8 = -5) B: If the total is below 0, treat it as 0. (So it's 0.) C: (No minimums or maximums in effect in this example, does not apply).
His current Force is 0, and I'd like to set it to 7. The linked answer says all I use to base this bonus upon is his current Force (0), so all I do is apply +7F. Okay, let's say I do that. What is his current Force now?
A: Apply all current bonuses and penalties. (3 - 8 + 7 = 2) B: If the total is below 0, treat it as 0. (Nope, so it's... 2?) C: (Again, no minimums or maximums, does not apply).
So, after setting this Personality's Force to 7 it's... 2? I believe +12F would have been a more "neccessary" bonus (CR: "To set a stat to value, give whatever bonus or penalty necessary to bring the current stat value to the desired stat value."). I was going to say "appropriate", but it seems the CR wording on this rule has changed to the previous quote from "To set a stat to value, give an appropriate bonus or penalty" since my last post, also I notice adding wording about "current" value that the answerer was (coincidentally?) citing. I hope my example above will point out that this change has absolutely no bearing upon, nor allieviates in any way, the issue at hand.
I apologize if my tone comes across as anything less than respectful, and I thank you for your time.
