A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.
A player, 31 August 2007
Unlikely (or not) situation that may come up:
Togashi Tsuri experienced faces Daigotsu experienced 2 in a Battle. His force is (3 - 4) 0. I, being a silly person, play The Price of Weakness. Knowing that hitting Daigotsu with this effect would be worthless (Seat of Power, etc), I decide to actually target Togashi Tsuri experienced. His force is now (3 -4 -4) 0.
The opponent foolishly uses Daigotsu experienced 2's Battle/Open ability to straighten a Shadowlands card and bow someone other than Togashi Tsuri experienced.
I then use Togashi Tsuri experienced's ability, switching his force (0) with Daigotsu experienced 2's force (7), granting Togashi Tsuri experienced a (7 - (3 -4 -4)) 12 force bonus, bringing him up to 7 Force.
My opponent looks amused, and passes.
I then attach an Iron Tetsubo to Togashi Tsuri experienced, giving him another 4 force bonus and negating all force penalties. With the above scenario, this brings his force to (7 +4 +4 +4) 19.
Have I arrived at the correct conclusion?
