Unit Destruction and Reactions

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 August 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

If a unit is being destroyed, are all cards destroyed simultaneously? If so, how are reactions to the unit's destruction determined?

For example, if an attacking player used Ruthless Advance to destroy an opposing Personality with Follower attached, would the defending player have the opportunity to play Few Against Many, or would the active player determine that the follower was destroyed first, followed by the personality?

As simultaneous as possible. In the case of Few Against Many, it triggers before destruction, so will always be able to be played in response to a unit destruction.
