A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Situation: I have a blanketed Forrest in play. Provided all costs can be payed, can my opponent play a movement action (Unwavering Assault, Mountain Shadow Dojo, etc) even though he knows its effects will be negated?
Basically, can you invoke the exception to rule of location and presence even though you have prior knowledge the movement will fail?
On an unrelated question, If I play fury of the dark lord, can my opponent play duty on one of his unboxable personlaities to save a boxable?
If so, can he play duty on a different personality that is slated to die by fury to save another personality that is slated to die?

(C)an you invoke the exception to rule of location and presence even though you have prior knowledge the movement will fail?
http://rules.l5r.com/Battles#Combat_Segment: "The Blind Cards rule means that even if the movement is known beforehand to fail due to ongoing negation effects, the action can still be taken."
Please look through the Comprehensive Rules before posting. Thanks.

(C)an he play duty on a different personality that is slated to die by fury to save another personality that is slated to die?
