Re:Items/Tokens and Continuous Effects

L5R CCG Rules board, 10 August 2007

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Refering to: http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=60351 I hate to drag this out since your ruling is how it seems like it should be played (and has been in the past), but do you mind explaining why?

Quite obviously the bonus is not from a trait, which is part of the definition of a Continuous Effect.

Ongoing effects have a distinct end point. Continuous ones don't. Items fit the latter category better.
