A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Thanks for the quick response. To satisfy my intellectual curiousity, could you share your insight into why the wording on the reaction says, "Search your deck, then your Provinces, for a Legacy Holding." instead of "Search your deck and Provinces for a Legacy Holding."? I'm okay with the ruling, I just thought that maybe it was intended that you could only pull one from a province if you didn't have one in the deck.
Another question; can you look through your deck, then provinces, then pull a Legacy holding from your deck? Perhaps that is the reason for the wording?

No idea.
