Hello Zen, in this question you say that Ide Tadaji can negate the paying of a cost of "discard the Imperial Favor". However Ide Tadaji only negates the 'effects' of the discarded favor, this harkens from a time when the favor itself had abilities to choose from. In fact Ide Tadaji states that the favor is still discarded and so would count for anything that looks for the favor to have been discarded.
So how does negating the 'effects' of the favor, negate the discarding of it? The favor is still discarded, specifically in this case as per ide Tadaji's own text.
Ide Tadaji's text for quick reference:
May not challenge or be assgined to attack or defend. Political Reaction: Bow when the Imperial Favor is used. The Favor's effect is negated, but the Favor is still discarded.
Are you making a ruling that costs are now effects?
Cheers

There is no general ruling from this.
There is no clean way to port cards referring to the original Imperial Favor and associated rules to the current rules. They'll just have to be handled one a case by case basis.
