Hasaiki no Oni: according to the way the card reads, why can't one character satisfy the requirements for the action?
It's general rule. Rules Archive, Targeting: "If two cards are listed as targeting requirements, they cannot be met by the same card."
If two cards are listed as targeting requirements, they cannot be met by the same card. [Summary of other rulings]
When I first heard that ruling back near the dawn of time, that ruling effected costs that cover the same effect to stop people using the same thing to cover multiple targets. Nothing is listed on the Summary of other rulings and no other entries in targeting affect this rulling. Do any of the rules guys know of the rulings it refers to be a summary of?
In Hasaiki no Oni's case the Targets are selected under different conditions. Unlike most other actions that list each item which are the same eligibility ie Target 3 Samurai, Hasaiki's seconnd target is chosen based on eligibility for a ranged strike and the first target is based on that the target is a personality. The action is not specifically listing the same type of target so should it still fall into this ruling?
