A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

In Lotus playtest it was announced that actions that become illegal mid way through resolution still continue. As far as I can see the only authorative statement on this in the Lotus rulebook is regarding personalities that die midway through performing an action.
So...
My opponent targets Shosuro Saemon with a Peasant Vengence or a ranged attack. Saemon uses his reaction to attach a follower. What happens to the Peasant Vengence or ranged attack?

The rule that went away is the one that says an action will not affect a target that stops meeting the action's original targeting restrictions after targets are picked but before that action begins resolving. (There was never a rule that invalidating one target canceled an action entirely.)

It still happens now.
