Province destroyed during Battle Action Segment (Hakahime)

L5R CCG Rules board, 21 April 2005 to 22 April 2005

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hi,

What happens when a province is destroyed during the battle action segment of a battle at that province?

Appologies if this has allready been answered, my search only turned up questions from before April 1 that you did not answer.

EG, I attack a Dragon player with Moto Ogedei.

As his first action, my opponent brings Mirumoto Hakahime into play from the current province, and searches his deck for Wait and See.

- Does the battle resolve?

If so,

- Can players still play actions?

- Is it possible for players to move other units to the current province?

- Is it possible to play a card such as "From Every Side"? What about "Weigh the Cost"?

- Can Shinjo Loruko use her reaciton after moving into the current battle?

- Is Ogedei destroyed?

- What is the "Location" of the current battle considered to be?

- What about movement effects that say "Move into the current Province" "Move to and adjacent Province" etc?

If not,

- Do the attacking units bow?

- Is Hakahime removed from the game?

- Can Ogedei Tireless Assault into another battle?

Thanks very much,
