L5R CCG Rules board, 8 April 2005 to 9 April 2005

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from the Wayback Machine (its copy), so posts it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

sorry if this has been asked before, but

bayushi paneki Scorpion Clan Champion. Defender of the Empire. Samurai. Tactician. Experienced 2. Unique. Loyal Other players' hands are face-up while Paneki is in play. Once per turn, during an attack, you may play a face-up card from another player's hand. It discards to its owner's discard pile.

yazaki Unaligned Kolat While this card is in play, no player may look at any of your face down cards or cards in your hand.

how exactly do these cards interact? if i'm playing with yazaki, and paneki comes out for my opponent, is my hand face up, but they're not allowed to look, but can play a random card from my hand? and if so, what if they try to randomly play a card that isn't battle or open? is it discarded, or do they waste their action, or what?

Yazaki beats Bayushi Paneki (Experienced 2) completely. Because no cards are face up, Paneki cannot be used to play them.
