Hello.
if you overlay a thunder over a personality with a diferent name
and that personality had selfreferential actions, could you play that actions?
EX: if i overlay Otaku on Moto Latomu the reaction would become like this?
"Reaction: After an action moves Otaku into a battle, bow Latomu for a Ranged 4 attack, or make a Ranged 2 Attack without bowing."
Or it will still say Latomu? if it says Latomu can the action be used?(the card isnt titled latomu anymore)
Since one way to read the text is as a selfreferential one. it would read
"Reaction: After an action moves this card into a battle,..."
but not sure if it is that way.
Edit: some people say it only works if the experienced has the "Moto Latomu experienced" trait (ie inexp_name exp)
Greetings & thanks.

Yes.
Why? I don't see anything in the Rules except this:
If a card's text refers to its card by name, it refers only to that one card, not to any other cards with that name in play. If another card copies an ability that refers to its card's name, the title in the copy changes to match the title of the card gaining the copied ability. [DE Rulebook, Self-Referential Cards]
Copy and Overlay are differents things. And Overlay Rules doesn't allow to treat Overlayed abilities like self-referential to newest title.
If you have a card, bowed or unbowed, in play and a more-experienced version of it ready to play, you may instead overlay the more experienced version over the lesser during the phase you would normally play it. The later version keeps the earlier one's attached cards, tokens, bowed and dishonored status, and all changes currently in effect, and permanently gains all its abilities. The later version's printed stats and traits override those on the earlier version. [DE Rulebook, Experienced Traits]
Normally an exp. Personality can use the previous abilities because they have the same keyword in the title or have the Experienced [Name] trait in the boldface trait area.
Some cards have the Experienced [Name] trait, to represent a character's name change; each of these cards is considered the Experienced version of the card named. For example, Akodo Ginawa has the trait “Experienced 4 Ginawa,” so he can overlay Ginawa. DE Rulebook, Experienced Traits]
Toson (Exp.) can use the Toson (no exp.)'s Limited ability because both shares the same keyword in the card's title.
Doji Reju (Exp.2) can use Hitomi Reju ability because Reju (Exp.2) is Hitomi Reju (Experienced), in the boldface trait area.
But if I have Shosuro in play, overlayed over Shosuro Osamito. Shosuro isn't Osamito, because the keyword isn't in the title neither in the boldface traits area.
Shosuro has an ability that reads: Once per battle, bow Osamito or discard a card from your hand to make a Ranged 3 Attack.
The Personality's name is Shosuro. His Experienced [Name] trait is also Shosuro. Shosuro isn't Osamito Exp. 7, is Shosuro (Exp.7). Then she couldn't bow to make the Ranged Attack. Unless you make a ruling.
As far as I can see, your previous statement need to be a ruling more than a clarification. And should be added to Accumulated Rulings to cover and fix the problem.
If Rulebook or previous Ruling allow it, please, show it. I cann't find it.

Can Shosuro (Experienced 7 Thunder) overlay the Ninja Shapeshifter or Shosuro (Experienced Ninja Shapeshifter)?
Archive, General, Experienced - even lists that example. Yes.

Will you add a entry for this matter in the Accumulated Rulings? It will help in the future. It is better to see and show it than say to players "Faulkes dixit"

I looked for "self-referential" in the Accumulated Rulings, hoping to find this very (old and general) ruling, and was surprised that it wasn't there.
The closest I found is in... the rulebook (searchable PDF rulebook is one of mankind's best inventions):
Self-Referential Cards
If a card's text refers to its card by name, it refers only to that one card, not to any other cards with that name in play. If another card copies an ability that refers to its card's name, the title in the copy changes to match the title of the card gaining the copied aility.
The current question isn't an instance of this (there is no copy), but it's close enough. Basically, I think the Rules Junta position will be the same for any question of this kind: any time a card uses its own name in card text, treat this as "this card" unless it uses a phrase like "a <card name>" or "a copy of <card name>".

Hello.
Oni no Pikachu
it could be any of this:
i- when in the rulebook says that after overlay ocurs , the personality
"gains" the actions of the "less experienced" version, it is in some way
like "copy" the acction (since you are not using the inexp action)
ii-the actions that have a selfreferential text, read "this card" instead of
"name of the card"
Greetings.
