Daidoji Gensai and RoE interrupt
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Are you asking when Ring of Earth's interrupt is taken, or when it stops the movement?
It would still be taken during the Interrupt step, and stop the movement when Gensai attempts to move. Since Gensai's targeting is optional, it does not occur during the normal choose targets step of the action sequence (step C), but instead when you reach its clause in the action's resolution. This will be after Ring of Earth stops Gensai's movement, and therefore the trigger for Gensai's optional ranged attack will not exist.
