L5R CCG Rules board, 17 April 2015

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

So this question came up because i saw in another forum post somewhere that when you are in an ambush you can't end up using stuff like sudden movement to get your person out because it switches personalities, and since the actual action cannot be completed then the card fails. So what about stuff like say using unsettling gathering to steal something that will only attach to certain types of personalities. For example some of the ninja followers that will only attach to ninja personalities. Would a card like Unsettling gathering be able to steal those kinds of cards if they did not have a target to change them to?

When you move an attachment the new target must be legal, so Unsettling Gathering would fail if it targeted an attachment with no other legal targets in play.

Please note that some effects do explicitly override this, such as Pokku.
