Isawa Orinoko going to school

L5R CCG Rules board, 29 November 2014 to 11 January 2015

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

I can't find it on the rules forum, but was there a resolution to School of Wizardry paying for invest on Isawa Orinoko?

I know there was one way before the card was released http://www.alderac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=109162&p=1433078&hilit=orinoko#p1433078, but since the rules for invest permanently changing the cost of the card changed, and School does not say reduce (cost becomes zero, as opposed to X amount less) , I don't know the answer. Help appreciated.

Under discussion - I think I missed the crux of the original question.

Okay, so here's how it works.

1. Before you pay the cost, you announce Invest, increasing it to 15. 2. When paying, you use School of Wizardry. Normally, this would reduce it to 0. However, 10 of the 15 cannot be reduced. So School sets the 5 cost to 0, but Orinoko still has a cost of 10. You have to pay that normally. 3. Her cost is permanently increased to 15.
