A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

So, I assume that The Imperial Favor still moves home someone wearing Iron Armor.
However, I had a couple of questions in regards other movements and if they are considered "card effects."
Is movement from Cavalry a "card effect" because the trait is on the personality or is it not considered a "card effect" because the ability is from the Rulebook?
Is movement from something like Encircled Terrain considered a "card effect" because the trait that causes the movement is from a card?
Thanks!

The Cavalry Player Ability is in the Rulebook, so it's not a card effect - reminder text has no bearing on the game.
Movement due to a trait on a card is a card effect.
