Kaiu Shiro and Delay destruction

L5R CCG Rules board, 20 October 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 20 October 2014

Kaiu Shiro

Once per phase, after another player's action resolves which destroyed one of your Personalities, you may target and destroy another player's Follower, or Personality without Followers, with Force less than or equal to your Personality's Yu value and who must be in the enemy army if this trait is triggered during a battle.

If you delay the destruction of your personality using Courage in Death and you win the battle, does Kaiu Shiro trigger when you finally destroy your personality at the end of your turn? Or does it trigger before the death is delayed?

Kaiu Shiro

If you delay the destruction of your personality using Courage in Death and you win the battle, does Kaiu Shiro trigger when you finally destroy your personality at the end of your turn? Or does it trigger before the death is delayed?

If you delay the destruction, Kaiu Shiro will never trigger.

Its trait triggers after the action resolves. If your guy didn't die from the action during that resolution, then nothing happens.
