Hida Rikyu's basic version has the following abilities according to the Oracle:
Battle: Once per battle, bow Rikyu and target an enemy unit with total Force less than or equal to Rikyu's unit's total Force: Bow the target. Battle: Once per battle, bow a Follower attached to Rikyu: Straighten Rikyu.
Since the second ability has you bowing a Follower to straighten Rikyu am I correct that this ability is Tireless? Otherwise what is the point of straightening RIkyu if he is already straightened before you use him.

Yes, the second ability will be Tireless when Rikyu's basic version is updated to Ivory wording. Unfortunately, not every card in the Oracle has been as yet. It's a long and ongoing process.
