Ward of Air and Fueling the Flames

L5R CCG Rules board, 1 September 2014 to 2 September 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 1 September 2014

As a follow-up to the reversal in the Thoughtless Sacrifice and Ward of Air interaction (here), does the same thing happen with Fueling the Flames?

To be clear, if i use Fueling the flames Battle to produce a Ranged 6 and react with Ward of Air to negate my shugenja's destruction, the Ranged happen?

Relevant text

Fueling the Flames Fire Battle: Bow this Shugenja to make a Ranged 6 Attack. Destroy this Shugenja

Ward of Air Before this Shugenja, or any Personality if this Shugenja is Air, is destroyed by a Battle action, you may destroy this Spell to negate it.

Correct. Negation does not undo instant effects, like Ranged Attack destruction, that has already happened.
