Sachina Sensei and "another player"

L5R CCG Rules board, 12 August 2014 to 24 August 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Does "another player" mean "other than you" or "other than the action's player"?

Also, since her action stipulates "cards" in the plural, does that mean the Interrupt cannot be triggered if only one card is shown?

Relevant text:

"After the action reveals cards in another player's hand, choose one of them."

The another player does indeed mean "other than you."

You may use the Interrupt if the action would only show one card; the use cards plural is simply another, shorter way to say "any number of cards." If the card was meant to trigger only upon multiple cards being shown, the card would have explicitly indicated that.
