L5R CCG Rules board, 5 August 2014 to 12 August 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

A player, 5 August 2014

1.) Today we die: Limited: Target a Samurai Personality who has not been targeted by a Today We Die this game. Until the game ends, he cannot Lobby, after the end of each of his controller's Action Phases, if he can legally assign, his controller must declare an attack and assign him, and give him a +1F/+1C token after each battle resolution he is in.

Will this count for defending resolution? so if i unbow him with an open and assign him to a defending province and it goes to resolution will i get the token?

2.) When using abilities / playing cards that require gold, when exactly do i pay? do i announce the action, then interrupts, then i pay? or do i announce then pay, then interrupts?

3.) do interrupts work like reactions were i can use them anywhere regardless of my personalities location? Example: I attack, i use an engage, then my opponent uses and interrupt from a personality that is at home?

4.) Relentless: Battle: Straighten your target opposed card. Give a target Follower or Personality +1F or -1F.

can this be used on a personality who already is straightened? if so why?

5.) duels that have refuse able conditions like bow him if he refuses, or dishonor him if he refuses, can you still refuse if your already bowed or dishonored?

It will indeed trigger on any battle resolution the target is in, regardless of whether or not they are a defender or attacker.

2.) When using abilities / playing cards that require gold, when exactly do i pay? do i announce the action, then interrupts, then i pay? or do i announce then pay, then interrupts?

Announce, Pay Costs, Allow for Interrupts, Resolve Effects

3.) do interrupts work like reactions were i can use them anywhere regardless of my personalities location? Example: I attack, i use an engage, then my opponent uses and interrupt from a personality that is at home?

No, Interrupts are bound to the Rules of Location and Presence, unlike Reactions were.

4.) Relentless: Battle: Straighten your target opposed card. Give a target Follower or Personality +1F or -1F.

can this be used on a personality who already is straightened? if so why?

Yes. Effects can always fail, as long as their required targeting is met.

5.) duels that have refuse able conditions like bow him if he refuses, or dishonor him if he refuses, can you still refuse if your already bowed or dishonored?

You can always choose an option, even if you know that choice will cause an effect to fail. Most options with consequences are now worded as, "You may choose to do X to Y. If this X'd Y, do Z."
