Bowed personalities vs Zero force units at battle resolution

L5R CCG Rules board, 5 August 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Ex.

I have an army that consists of 3 units whom their personalities are bowed. My opponent has 3 units that have zero force due to card effects. At resolution my opponent says he wins the battle because my units are bowed and they contribute zero force, while his units are not bowed and still contribute their zero force. I see it as a tie.

Who is correct?

You are.

"If two armies have equal Force, the battle is a tie." - Comprehensive Rules, p39. The fact that only one side has unbowed cards is irrelevant; only total force matters.
