Rampant paranoia vs chi kill

L5R CCG Rules board, 11 July 2014 to 19 July 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

My opponent has his rampant paranoia in effect. He defends his only personality with 1C. I target the defending personality with Shosuro Sadao's ability and gives the defending personality -1F/-1C poison token. Now, the defending personality has 0C.

Question: Will rampant paranoia save the personality or will he die as a result of having 0C as a rulebook effect?

No. Chi Death is back to being a rulebook effect rather than one from the source card, so Rampant Paranoia has no effect on it.
