Hi, I am relatively new to this game (a friend of mine and I are currently the only 2 playing it locally) and I have a question that I haven't found an answer to yet and been loking for a few days now. Is there a limit to the number of personalities you can have on the board at a time? I was playing a game where I eventually just had a swarm out there and we just stopped because there was nothing that could be done about it so I am assuming there has to be a limit, otherwise how would you stop that from happening?
personality limit
A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

No, there is no limit to the number of Personalities you can have in play at once.
Now to editorialize for a moment, it sounds like you and your friend experienced a problem a number of new players do, and that was waiting too long to attack one another. If you got to the point where you had so many Personalities that your opponent had no hope of attacking, or defending against, you and surviving... well, you pretty much won the game (why stop? CRUSH THE OTHER PLAYER! ). He/she probably should've attacked you sooner when things were more even but it started to look as though he/she was going to get out-produced, to try to "stop that from happening", as you said. No worries; the proper time to attack is just something one learns eventually with practice.
