If I have 0 Family Honor and did not go first, can I recruit Sengmai using Slave Pits (and another gold source)?

Due to the way Recruit works, the cost is paid before the Recruit effects begin to resolve, so by the time the game tries to check Sengmai's entering-play restrictions, you have already lost the honor from Slave Pits, meaning you now fulfil the requisites even before you have to choose Sengmai as the Personality you're Recruiting.
