Unsettling Gathering vs Never Without a Weapon

L5R CCG Rules board, 28 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

In refrence to this ruling here: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=107384&p=1414361&hilit=unsettling#p1414361

Since the token created has no gold cost and card memory doesn't capture what was spent, only what is on the card, my assumption is that if I attach a token weapon with Never Without a Weapon and my opponent wanted to steal it with Unsettling Gathering, they would spend zero gold to do so? Is that correct?

*edit* Thank you for the confirmation and clarification!

The Weapon card created has zero Gold Cost because the card that creates it doesn't give it one. As a result your opponent may pay just zero gold for an Unsettling Gathering that targets it.

Note: Created cards aren't tokens.
