Going infinite in Legacy

L5R CCG Rules board, 23 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Here's the set-up: I have a (any) monk in play, and I have previously resolved The Element's Path targeting him and my Ring of Air, permanently giving him its "Air Repeatable Battle/Open" ability, and letting him ignore its bowing cost. I also have an Oni no Ogon and 2 or more of a combination of Daidoji Soken, Ide Hinobu, and/or Tsujiken's Coin.

With the advent of gold-pooling in Ivory, am I correct in assuming that it is legal to (for instance), announce Oni no Ogon's force pump ability, bow 2 Sokens to pay it (producing 6 gold), then take my next two actions having my monk straighten both of them then continue until I have infinite force/gold on the table?

This isn't even necessarily gold pooling related. As long as all the abilities involved are Repeatable, you may use it to "go infinite", and you only need one Soken, Yashinko, or Hinobu to do so.

With Tsujiken's Coin, it does require gold pooling, but yes, that will work as well.
