L5R CCG Rules board, 23 February 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Because of the new rules regarding presence and location, do cards like Searching For Answer get the Absent Keyword or do they become in essence dead cards? I know you can play them if you have someone actually at the battlefield but that kind of defeats the purpose of the card.

I ask because the whole point of the card is to get someone out of the dynasty deck when you have no one at the battlefield. If not would their be an effort to update the card to have the absent keyword?

Cheers!

Searching For Answers Battle: If you are the Defender: Look at the top four cards of your Dynasty deck. If one of them is a Personality, you may put him into play at the current battlefield, ignoring Gold cost. Put the remaining cards back in any order. Discard him after the battle ends.

The older cards will eventually gain their Absent, Home, etc. keywords. I beg you some patience because the revision of ten thousands cards is no minor effort and will probably take some time.
