Moto Taigo xp and Timing

L5R CCG Rules board, 22 February 2014 to 5 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

This is kind of a spinoff of: viewtopic.php?f=59&t=106606&p=1404632&hilit=taigo#p1404632 but more specific

Question: When does the rule of Location come into play on the targeting portion of his ability?

Example: I announce Block Supply Lines in a battle Taigo is present. I interrupt with Taigo's ability. The opponent's personality moves. Now that the personality is not at the battle, is the card a legal target for Moto Taigo to destroy a card without attachments in the moved unit? Counterexample: I announce Determine Challenged in a battle Taigo is present. I interrupt with Taigo's ability. the opponent's personality moves. Now that the personality is at the battle, is the card a legal target for Moto Taigo to destroy a card without attachments in the moved unit, even though he was not a legal target at the time the action was announced (a la before he moved)?

Thanks!

This is under discussion, and I'm working on getting an answer to this and other outstanding questions ASAP. Apologies for the delay.

Taigo's ability will target after the ability has moved units. Therefore, the unit must be moving to Taigo's battle for it to be a legal target.
