A Moving Battle + Journey's End. Legal?

L5R CCG Rules board, 18 February 2014 to 19 February 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

Hi Rules Team,

If I put A Moving Battle into play and later resolve it's movement effect, does that count as resolving an action for the purposes of Journey's End? I'm thinking the answer is "no" because the "before resolution" movement printed on A Moving Battle is a trait whereas the "Destroy a terrain and put this terrain into play" is the actual action but I'd like to ask here to make sure.

Alternatively, if I play A Moving Battle, can I immediately react with with Journey's End to gain the extra battle action once the movement effect resolves? Thanks!

Relevant card text:

Before this battle resolves, you may move one of your opposed attacking Personalities at this battlefield to an adjacent, unresolved battlefield. Battle: Destroy a Terrain (if able). Put this Terrain into play.

Absent Interrupt: After the Battle action resolves, if it moved your Personality to a battlefield, then take an additional action.

Correct, the movement isn't an effect of the Terrain's Battle action. Therefore, no, you can't gain any additional action, no matter how you play it
