Hi there,
Fueling the Flames Fire Battle, [BOW]: Ranged 2 Attack. Fire Battle: Bow this Shugenja to make a Ranged 6 Attack. Destroy this Shugenja.
Reading the IvE rules on combining, It seems possible to announce the Ranged 6 and then combine it with the Ranged 2 into a Ranged 8 because the "Destroy this Shugenja" bit isn't a cost and won't happen until the Ranged attack resolves. Am I correct in my interpretation of the rules?
Thank you!

It is not correct, per this ruling/reversal (and its sister ruling here) that clarified the meaning of "another card" in the context of combining RA/MA/Fear effects. You can't combine two abilities from the same card, all effects being combined must come from different cards (in the same unit as a general rule).
