L5R CCG Rules board, 22 January 2014 to 5 March 2014

A topic from AEG's L5R CCG Rules forum, copied for Oracle of the Void from a copy of the forum saved in October 2015, so pages it didn't save are missing. Players' names are left out; the rules officials are named. Rulings are as they stood on these dates; later rulings, the rulebooks and the Rules Archive may differ.

The present rules text on the Rule of Location states:

"A card in a unit must be at the current battlefield to be targeted by, or explicitly perform, an Engage, Battle or Interrupt action. "

Isn't Taigo's ability targeting conditional to the Interrupted action actually moving any units?

In that case, how come - at the time when Taigo's Interrupt targeting occurs - he can target a card that has moved *away* from the current battlefield?

Because Taigo's targeting needs to happen after it is determined if units have moved, he can only destroy a card moving into his battle, as that is the only thing legal for him to target. This is a reversal of the prior ruling.
